I received my graduation in Biology from the University of the Azores at Ponta Delgada, in 2000 and MSc in Applied Ecology from the University of Porto, in 2008. Also, I hold a doctorate degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution from the University of Porto in 2015. I worked as research fellow at the Centre of Studies for Macaronesia of the University of Madeira, in Funchal, at CIBIO-InBIO/UP, in Porto, and at the Archaeosciences Laboratory of the former Portuguese Institute of Archaeology (actually Directorate General for Cultural Heritage), in Lisbon. Also, I collaborated in projects on biodiversity conservation, environmental assessment, and public awareness at the Universities of Madeira and Porto. Currently, I am a volunteer member of CIBIO prosecuting the write and submission of journal articles from the PhD Thesis “A Theoretical Approach to a Practical Challenge- Community Ecology of Dune Vegetation and its Relation with Coastal Dynamics”.
