Currently, I am a second-year Master degree student in the Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution program at the University of Porto. My research is focused on population structure and gene flow in desert environment in isolated fish populations in West Africa. I am interesting in speciation, population genetics and phylogeography in organisms from desert environments.
Prior to arriving in Portugal I studied to obtain a Bachelor degree in Bioengineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (2005-2009, Lithuania). After I graduated I worked at STAB VIDA in Costa de Caparica as lab technical in sequencing service for one year. I then worked at CIBIO-InBIO on the European Project AARC - Atlantic Aquatic Resources Conservation as lab research technical. My research with the AARC project was focused on the population genetics of European shads.
