The focus of my PhD is on the effects of climate change on the patterns of marine biodiversity on a global scale. I am using and SDM approach to forecast potential shifts in patterns of distribution for marine species such as sharks, mammals, cephalopods and fishes.
My research is supervised by Miguel B. Araújo and Rui Rosa, and funded by the Portuguese FCT. My work is done at the Rui Nabeiro Biodiversity Chair, University of Évora, in collaboration with the Guia Marine Laboratory, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon.
I´m a marine biologist by training and my previous research has been focus in reproductive biology of cephalopods. In 2010, i started working at Guia Marine Laboratory and my focus turned to changes in biodiversity and biology under climate change.
