My weekly activities encompass not only Science but also other areas. They take shape in a triangle, whose sides form an inseparable unity. They are:

  1. The practice of the Modern Science: on how Man can find Truth on the unfolding of the Universe's underlying mechanisms and in this process heal our suffering Planet Earth. I am currently a PhD student under the guidance of João Honrado, of CIBIO/UP, and Jorge Capelo, of Estação Florestal Nacional. The project aims to help solve two of the most serious problems of the Portuguese Forest: loss of biodiversity and unnatural, frequent fires. I am studying the effect of different forestry management practices on natural forest, as well as the protecting effect of natural Euro-Siberian forest on the fight against fire. As an outcome, we envisage to propose models of forestry practices for Northwestern Portugal which are not only environmentally sustainable but also economically viable.
  2. The development of the New Art: on how the Soul can express Beauty on the performance of Music. As Music is my other calling, I study at the Oporto Conservatory and work professionally in this field.
  3. The application of the New Philosophy: on how the Human Spirit can manifest Love on daily life. I have chosen a working schedule that allows time for activities linked to the care of my family and community.
