Isabel Damas Moreira

My research focused on understanding the effects of Apicomplexan blood parasites (haemogregarines) on lacertid lizards. During my Master thesis, I was supervised by James Harris and Ana Perera, and I assessed the parasite impacts on lizards’ immune system, performance, behaviour and ecophysiology. I have joined several field expeditions through Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Greece over the last years, and I am very keen to combine field research with my desire of becoming a behavioural ecologist in reptiles.
