PhD candidate under the supervision of Fran Saborido-Rey (Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas de Vigo, CSIC) and Nuno Queiroz (Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources, CIBIO-InBIO). In 2009 he joined the CETMAR as technologist until 2012. The aims of his research are based on the biology and spatial ecology of pelagic sharks subject to fishing pressure, especially the shortfin mako (Isurus oxyrinchus) and blue shark (Prionace glauca). In general, he is mainly interested in marine ecology, specifically fish ecology and behaviour. He is also involved in several research projects on fisheries management, sustainability, evaluation and selectivity.
