I have graduated in Biology from the University of Coimbra in 2015. I am currently enrolled in the Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution from CIBIO/University of Porto. My research interests are the conservation, behavioural patterns, and socioecology of primate species.
For my dissertation, I will focus on the genetic diversity and population structure of the Western Chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes verus) at the Cufada Lagoons Natural Park, in Guinea-Bissau. Specifically, I aim at i) estimating the genetic diversity of the subspecies within the park and investigating how the genetic variation is geographically distributed, ii) examining the presence of possible barriers to dispersal within the park, and iii) carrying out a population viability analysis for this population.
