My networks

I have master degree in Marine Biology with specialization in Ecology and Marine Conservation since 2010 at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Algarve, Portugal. Since then, I have been a lecturer in Marine Biology and Biological Sciences courses at the former Department of Engineering and Marine Sciences of Cabo Verde University. My Master thesis was on the Phylogeography of the bivalve Brachidontes puniceus in the Cabo Verde archipelago and it was supervised by Dr. Rita Castilho (CCMAR, University of Algarve). The thesis was focused on the genetic characterization of this species in Cabo Verde archipelago, to infer larval dispersal patterns between the islands.

I have been collaborating on several research projects related to the knowledge of Caboverdean Zoology and the characterization of Genetics, such as ""promoting the development of design and the use of molecular biological methods (BIOTECMAR), enhancement, control and management of marine resources of Macaronesia (BIOVAL) and tilapia production for use as live bait (FAO project). I am a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Zoological Society of Cabo Verde and my research interest focuses on marine invasive species, malacological fauna from Cabo Verde islands, zoological diversity, conservation and sustainable management of the archipelago's resources.

At now I’m a researcher at CIBIO-InBIO, and pHD student in the Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution Doctoral Program (BIODIV) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FC-UP).
