I graduated in Biology at University of Évora in 2017, and as an undergraduate student I began collaborating with ongoing projects focused on Natural History Collections and African herpetology, which became my main scientific interests. In 2019 I obtained a Master’s degree in Conservation Biology, with a thesis focused on the taxonomy of the Psammophis sibilans species complex, combining morphological and molecular data to review species delimitations and diagnoses. This work allowed me to develop my research skills and deepen my interest in taxonomy and nomenclature.

Since 2019 I have been actively collaborating with PORBIOTA - Portuguese E-Infrastructure for Information and Research on Biodiversity, working on the digitization of zoological collections at Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, Universidade de Lisboa (MUHNAC) and the former Instituto de Investigação Científica Tropical (IICT). This opportunity allowed me to acquire additional experience on collections management and contribute to their enrichment and accessibility.

I am currently a PhD student at BIOPOLIS/CIBIO-InBIO, working on the diversity and distribution of reptiles in southwestern Angola, with a project focused on species turnover along ecological and altitudinal gradients. The ultimate goal is to provide an integrated framework to investigate patterns of dispersion and diversification, allowing the improvement of taxonomic resolution and biogeographical boundaries to support management and conservation measures.
