My networks

I completed my MSc in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution, at CIBIO-InBIO, in 2017. For my MSc thesis, I investigated the genetic mechanisms underlying plumage colour variation in Gouldian finches, by applying cutting-edge genomic tools. Although my main research interest sets on understanding the mechanisms leading to and shaping phenotypic diversity, with especial interest on behavioral phenotypes and colouration, I've been involved in other projects on bird ecology and behaviour. I have collaborated in european bird ringing projects, collecting data in Portugal and Spain. For the past 2 years I have worked as station manager in the Behavioural Ecology Group at CIBIO-InBIO, where I was responsible for managing indoor/outdoor aviary facilities while assisting several research experiments and conducting research on methods to assess behavioural traits. My research skills span different branches in Science, from fieldwork to the lab, including bird ringing, behavioural experimentation and NGS data analysis. Apart from research I take interest in science outreach, having participated in several events to promote public awareness to biodiversity conservation issues.
