I am a researcher in population genetics and anthropology interested in demographic history and in the influence of cultural processes on the genetic diversity.

During my PhD (Musée de l’Homme, MNHN, Paris, France), I investigated the impact of the kinship system in unilineal populations on the mitochondrial and Y chromosome diversities to better understand the boundaries between social and biological kinship in human populations from South and Southeast Asia. Another part of my research was focused on the demographic history of a linguistic family of South and Southeast Asia, the Austroasiatic linguistic family, based on genome-wide data.

In December 2018, I joined the group of Prof Jorge Rocha (CIBIO-InBIO) to study the demographic history of the Khoe-Kwadi linguistic family in order to better understand the peopling history and the dispersal of pastoralism in Austral Africa.
