I am a Landscape Architect with a PhD in Ecosystem-based Landscape Planning and Food Planning, at the University of Lisbon (LEAF/ISA/ULisboa, 2017). Between 2017 and 2020, I worked in the areas of Agriculture, Food and Climate Change Adaptation, Circular Economy and Terroir studies at several Portuguese research institutions.  Currently, I am enrolled in the Project − Ecosystem-based Landscape Planning for City Region Food Systems Environmental Sustainability, funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in the scope of the Individual Scientific Employment Tender.

My current research adopts a socio-ecological approach to food security with the study of the potential impacts of food system relocalisation in environmental sustainability and social wellbeing. My project analyses pathways for the relocalisation of City Region Food Systems, through ecosystem-based landscape planning tools, foodshed mapping and ecosystem services assessment. My main research areas are Landscape Planning, Food planning, Landscape Ecology, Agroecology, Environmental Resources Management, Ecosystem Services, Socio-Ecological Systems, Governance, Public policies, Spatial Analysis, and Geographical Information Systems.
