I graduated in Biology in 2012 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. From 2012 to 2014, I attended the Master in Ecology, Environment and Territory in the same institution. With a dissertation entitled “Towards a calibration of the Lichen Potential Biodeteriogenic Activity: the case of the schist in the Upper Douro Valley (NE Portugal)”, the work was focused on the study of distribution patterns of lichen species and relationship with climatic factors and the contribution of lichen colonization to the weathering of rock surfaces and its implications on open-air rock-art conservation in the Upper Douro region.

Since early 2014, I have been collaborating with the Environmental Archaeology group. My current research activity is related to anthracology with the study of different archaeological sites in terms of their charcoal diversity.

My research interests are related to plant species diversity and distribution (both present and past), their interaction with the environment and landscape evolution over time.
