Starting on July 3, 2016, at 11h30, the national public channel RTP1 will broadcast the amazing documentary series “As Novas viagens philosophicas”, unveiling the work developed by CIBIO-InBIO researchers all over the world. The documentaries result from 5 years of missions to 12 countries in 4 continents from Mauritania to the Amazon.

In interviews for the daily program “Bom Dia Portugal” and the online magazine "Wilder", the team responsible for the production of the series, which followed CIBIO-InBIO biologists around the globe disclosed a few of the incredible memories that endure following hundreds of days of video and image recording. Nuno Ferrand, CIBIO-InBIO Scientific Coordinator and the mentor of this project, also called attention to the impact of broadcasting these biodiversity-related topics on public TV platforms.

This project documents unexpected and unknown aspects of biodiversity and wildlife worldwide, showing the work developed by national researchers and demonstrating that it is possible to produce high quality national documentaries to engage the public with the wonders of science.

Do not miss out on the opportunity to watch this series on RTP1. Stay alert about the upcoming episodes, to be broadcasted on Sundays, between 11h00 and 13h00, by checking RTP1’s programming grid.
