PRESENTATION OF THE E-BOOK "NORTHERN FORESTS OF PORTUGAL: HISTORY, ECOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES"

Recognizing the relevance and timeliness of the International Year of Forests, declared by the United Nations under the motto "Forests for people”, InBio joins the celebrations by organising a seminar with invited specialists and the presentation of the e-book entitled "Forests of Northern Portugal - History, Ecology and Management Challenges".

This work, coordinated by João Tereso, João Pradinho Honrado, Ana Teresa Pinto and Francisco Castro Rego, join the contributions of experts in different scientific disciplines such as ecology, forest engineering and archaeology.

We are certain that the result is a renewed and up-to-date vision of what forest are nowadays, how they have evolved, which are their major threats and what are the main challenges to their future management.
