JOSÉ CARLOS BRITO WAS INTERVIEWED BY THE MAGAZINE “PARQUES E VIDA SELVAGEM”

José Carlos Brito gave an interview about the fieldwork experience, in the scope of his research on West African crocodile (Crocodylus suchus). From 2008 to 2015 the CIBIO-InBIO researcher led 8 scientific expeditions to Mauritania, in order to study the West African crocodile populations.

José Carlos Brito's work brought new data on this species' genetic structure and dispersal abilities. He has described 96 subpopulations, organized into 6 genetic groups, which tend to follow the distribution of the major river basins of the country.
