DOCUMENTARY SERIES "OS FÓSSEIS DE SANTA MARIA - AÇORES"
“Os Fósseis de Santa Maria – Açores”
A new scientific documentary series, entitled “Os Fósseis de Santa Maria – Açores”, will be broadcasted by the regional TV channel RTP-Açores every Friday, from March 13 to April 3, 2015.
Authored by Sérgio Ávila, biologist and paleontologist from CIBIO-InBIO’s BIOISLE Group at the University of Azores, this television series was produced with the special collaboration of director José Serra. The filming took place during the fieldwork of the 10th international workshop Paleontology on the Atlantic Islands (“Paleontology in Atlantic Islands”), which brought together over 20 researchers from Portugal and abroad, including PhD students from the University of Azores.
This TV series had the support of the Regional Government of Azores and the Municipal Council of Vila do Porto.
The documentary series includes 4 episodes (in Portuguese), to be broadcasted on the following dates:
March 13, 2015 (21:30) – Episode 1: “Os Fósseis de Santa Maria”;
March 20, 2015 (21:30) – Episode 2: “Pedra-que-pica”;
March 27, 2015 (21:30) – Episode 3: “A jazida da Malbusca e a Gruta dos Icnofósseis”;
April 03, 2015 (21:30) – Episode 4: “Os trilhos da Rota dos Fósseis”.
