CIBIO-InBIO’S DIRECTOR INTEGRATES THE WORKING GROUP WHICH WILL RETHINK THE EVALUATION OF THE PORTUGUESE SCIENTIFIC SYSTEM

CIBIO-InBIO’s Director, Nuno Ferrand de Almeida, is one of the six experts that make up the working group recently established by the Portuguese Ministry of Science with the purpose of scrutinizing the assessment of the national scientific system.

Coordinated by Karin Wall (Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon),the working group - "Grupo de Reflexão sobre a Avaliação de Ciência e Tecnologia pela FCT" – also includes Cláudio Sunkel (I3S, University of Porto), Carlos Bernardo (IPS/I3N, University of Minho), Constança Providência (Center for Computational Physics, University of Coimbra) and Salwa Castelo Branco (INET-MD, Nova University of Lisbon).

Within four months, this working group is expected to present a report disclosing key guidelines concerning the principles and best practices underlying the assessment strategy of scientific and technological activities to be taken into account by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology in regards to the new evaluation exercise of the Portuguese scientific sector.
