Workshop - BIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT OF IBERIAN VOLES: PROGRESSES, CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS

17 Sep 2018 - October 3-5, 2018 | CIBIO-InBIO, Vairão, Portugal
Workshop - BIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT OF IBERIAN VOLES: PROGRESSES, CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS

CIBIO-InBIO will host in Vairão Campus on October 3 to 5 the Workshop "Biology and management of Iberian voles: Progresses, challenges and prospects", co-organized by University of Évora and University of Valladolid.

This workshop follows up on a previous workshop on “Vole Ecology, Genetics and Conservation”, held at University of Évora (Portugal) in 2011 and 2014, and results from the merging with a workshop on “Vole population cycles in Iberia”, which was planned for this year in Spain. The idea of merging the workshops in a single larger one aroused from the willing to build expertise in Iberian vole research, by bringing together researchers and students involved in vole-related projects mostly (but not exclusively) in Portugal and Spain, covering a wide range of topics from basic biological and ecological questions to evolutionary processes and population management problems.

The five keynote lectures on October 3 and 4 will be open to the general public and we would like to invite and encourage everyone to attend.
