MULTIVARIATE DATA ANALYSIS FOR ECOLOGY AND EVOLUTION WITH R

19 Jun 2012 - CIBIO, Campus Agrário de Vairão | November 5-9 ,2012.

WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

A call for applications for the workshop on Multivariate Data Analysis for Ecology and Evolution in R is now open. The workshop will be held in the facilities of the Centro de Investigação em Biodiversidade e Recursos Genéticos (CIBIO-InBIO/UP) at Campus Agrário de Vairão (Vila do Conde, Portugal) on November 5-9 2012.

Instructors: Dr. Dean C. Adams (Iowa State University), Dr. Michael Collyer (Western Kentucky University), Dr. Antigoni Kaliontzopoulou (CIBIO-InBIO/UP). The workshop will review the statistical concepts underlying multivariate data analyses common in ecological and evolutionary applications, including GLM, randomization and association methods, phenotypic trajectory analysis, methods for controlling for evolutionary and ecological non-independence, model selection and analysis of dispersion. Afternoon sessions will be dedicated to R-code demonstration and training labs. We will accept a maximum of 20 participants from various countries, selected based on their CV and a motivation letter. A basic knowledge of R is required. Deadline for submission of applications: 20 JULY 2012. The list of selected participants will be announced by 31 August 2012.
