INSIGHTS INTO THE EUROPEAN RABBIT IMMUNE SYSTEM: EVOLUTIONARY HISTORY, DIVERSITY AND EXPRESSION OF GENES PLAYING KEY ROLES IN MYXOMA VIRUS INFECTION AND HOST-RESISTANCE

11 Oct 2013 - Ana Lemos de Matos (CIBIO/InBIO-Universidade do Porto) | October 11, 2013 | 14h30 | CIBIO’s Auditorium, Campus de Vairão

In this talk, I will present and discuss relevant insights into the European rabbit immune system, such as evolutionary history, diversity and expression of genes playing key roles in Myxoma virus infection and host-resistance.

Ana Lemos de Matos is a 4th-year PhD student in the Doctoral Programme in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV). Besides, she is integrated into the CIBIO’s research group “Genetic aspects of the host-parasite interaction”. Ana will be defending her dissertation soon, so this seminar will be a first rehearsal for her final presentation.
