I am an evolutionary ecologist interested in understanding the drivers and consequences of variation in animal functional traits. I try to understand the association between morphology, performance, behaviour and habitat use usually at microevolutionary level (intraspecific) but sometime scaling up at the macroevolutionary level (interspecific). As model systems, I normally work with lizards from the Mediterranean and specially Podarcis spp..

During my PhD thesis I studied the interplay between morphology, performance, behaviour, and environmental variation in lizards in a functional morphology framework. I am currently a postdoctoral research working in the project GSRESPONSE – "A reptile model and 3600 m of altitudinal gradient to infer the ectotherm responses to global change in Portugal” lead by Miguel A. Carretero.
