Sofia Alexandra Marques Silva

I am a post-doc researcher experienced in microbial diversity of fish and avian hosts, and I am particularly interested in the evolution of host-associated microbiotas in wild species. I was a post-doc researcher and visiting professor at Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MPEG, Brazil), between 2014 and 2018, where I worked mainly in the fields of Neotropical biogeography, phylogeography, phylogetics/omics, wildlife conservation, and population genetics/omics of vertebrate species (with emphasis on Mastozoology and Ornithology). I continue to collaborate with researchers focused on Neotropical taxa through ongoing projects and co-supervision activities. I am also a voluntary collaborator at the NGO Instituto Tamanduá, Brazil (Institute of Research and Conservation of Anteater in Brazil).
