Post-Doc Researcher
My main research goals are 1) studying bird morphological adaptations on islands and the ecological mechanisms involved in their evolution and 2) finding out the engine of bird migration and understand the evolution of migratory behaviour through time, under global climatic changes. Apart from that, I am also interested in studying the behaviour and evolution of other groups, as well as global biogeography and ecology. During my PhD, I focused on the study of the evolution of migration by following an integrative approach combining both phylogenetic comparative methods, present and paleodistribution modelling, niche analyses and statistical analyses. From 2021 to 2023 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at CIBIO-InBIO (Research Centre in Biodiversity and Genetic Resources) at Vairão (Portugal) with a postdoctoral fellowships from the Basque Country Government (Spain). Currently, I am a Marie Curie postdoctoral researcher at BIOPOLIS-CIBIO at Vairão (Portugal). My research is focused on unravelling general patterns of morphological evolution of endemic birds on islands and the mechanisms involved.
