I have graduated in Biotechnology at the Higher School of Agriculture of Coimbra and I am currently doing my Master’s degree in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at University of Porto. My research focuses specifically on the application of molecular and genetics tools in the study of endangered species as well species-key. In my master thesis I will use landscape genetics tools to investigate the influence of landscape features on historical and gene flow of Guinea baboon (Papio papio) in Southern Mauritania. Specifically, this project aims to use genetic data and landscape connectivity models to 1) identify the elements of the landscape restricting or facilitating gene flow between sub-populations; 2) to identify dispersal routes warranting local protection.
