I am graduated in Biology by the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), Portugal (2012).

My main research interests encompass several topics in the field of evolutionary biology, such as the mechanisms of adaptation and speciation. Since the last year of my graduation I have been working in the research project "The paths of parallel evolution and their genetic crossroads” under the supervision of Rui Faria, in which I have been mainly involved in geometric-morphometrics analyses. The purpose of this project is to identify the genomic regions and genetic variants responsible for parallel ecotype evolution and ecological speciation in the intertidal gastropod species Littorina fabalis and L. obtusata, using a multidisciplinary approach based on ecology, morphology, genomics, transcriptomics and modeling.

In order to improve my skills and to learn more about these topics, I carried out a Masters Course in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at FCUP/CIBIO-InBIO. My master’s thesis was under the scope of the above mentioned project, particularly focused in the study of the genetic and morphological differentiation between L. obtusata and L. fabalis as well as between the different ecotypes described for these last species in several European shores.
