I completed my masters in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution at Faculty of Sciences from University of Porto on 2013, and I got the graduation degree in Biology in University of Évora.

As a master student, I joined CIBIO-InBIO CONGEN research group on 2012, where I carried out my master’s thesis. The aim of my thesis was to assess the effects of landscape variables on gene flow in a population of Genetta genetta, in south Portugal. After my master’s defense, I joined CIBIO’s BIODESERTS research group.

Currently, I’m working as a research technician in BI_EVOVIV project ("Evolution of Viviparity: An integrative Framework for the study of an evolutionary novelty in Salamandra salamandra”). Within the project’s framework, it is intended to assess the patterns of hybridization between different lineages of Salamandra salamandra in north Spain.

I’m also enrolled in other studies for this species in Oviedo (Spain), namely the assessment of the historical effects of urbanization on population structuring and on demographic parameters. At the same time, I’m also involved in other research studies outside the scope of the project BI_EVOVIV. More specifically, I’m interested in (1) understanding the role of the landscape on gene flow for highly vagile species in a Mediterranean environment, and (2) on the analysis of spatial and temporal effects of roads in terrestrial vertebrates.
